While just *days* before our July mtng, Apple ousted CEO Gil Amelio... And then just *days* before our Aug. mtng, Steve Jobs announced his deal w/ Bill Gates... And now, just *days* before our Sept. mtng, Apple has bought out Power Computing! QMUG/LA has been hosting some pretty cool mtngs...

Needing to make heads or tails of all this and what it means to you? Then drop by your monthly QMUG/LA mtng!

QMUG/LA is proud and excited to continue its long history of presenting Apple's great operating Systems -- first System 7.5 in Oct '94, then a "Tour of the System (7.5) Folder and Windows 95" in Sept '95, "Tour of Copland" in Aug '96, and now, finally, "Mac OS 8" this Sept '97.

But tonight is different. And better. And very special. This night, this month, this year, we get to present Family, one of our own...

7:30pm sharp Aaron Copland, great American composer; Hear excerpts
from "Appalachian Spring," "Fanfare for the Common Man"
  7:50pm Overview of Apple's OSes, from 6.0 to 9.0?
(a very cool chart you won't want to miss!)
8:10pm Audience Introductions, "What do you want to know about
Apple and OS 8?" and general Q&A; Choose date for QAC.
8:30pm Mac OS 8, major features and benefits
9:10pm Faking 8, get OS 8 features on 030's, etc.
  9:30pm Wrap up.

Unable to attend? Forgot? Too short a notice? Not to worry. At tonight's mtng we will pick a date for QMUG/LA's Advisory Council mtng. Have your say in QMUG/LA w/o being an officer! Have your say in what we do next year, and how we do it! We'll let you know what date we choose.
