Monday, August 10th, 7:30pm, as a direct result of our July Star Search ’98 meeting, we at QMUG/LA were proud to unveil our Qalendar of topics for our entire *5th* year of existence — ’til June ’99. (All months are confirmed except November and December.)

Monday, August 10th, 7:30pm, we at QMUG/LA were also proud to unveil our working prototype for our upcoming USPS mailing which included a working prototype of our brochure. To make it complete, you can contribute to our “Applications we love!” section!

Friday, September 11th, Apple e-mailed out a call for “Apple iMac Demo Day” Reps. Heed the call!

Tuesday, September 15th, 10am-12pm, Apple Computer invites educators, parents, and you to attend “America Links Up,” a national educational campaign to make sure the Internet is a safe and rewarding place for children. Receive a list of online resources for parents and of fun websites for children, learn internet safety tips, and see a “Child Online Safety Video” (including filters & blockers, pro’s & con’s) and an online demonstration of the “Child Safe” search engine. Sunday, September 27th, 7pm, Gay Goodenough presents “Can’t Get Enough,” a one-woman show about life, love, denial and dysfunction — reviews rave “hysterically funny, don’t miss it!” Tickets are $10. “Can’t Get Enough” shows every Sunday at 7pm through October 25th. Sunday, October 11th, is National Coming Out Day! We Lesbians, Gays and Bisexuals don’t really have a lot of holidays/“holy days,” but NCOD is certainly one of them. Come out to someone who loves you. Coming out is the greatest gift you can give yourself as well as to those around you.
